A client from Bartlesville, OK, contacted Boomers Audio to install an audio system in his 1957 Chevy Bel Air. He had recently finished a complete restoration on the car, and only needed an audio system as the icing on the cake. After talking with the client, we came up with a well-concealed system that would look and sound great.
We started with fabricating a custom center console for the car. We made a location for a double-DIN head unit at the front. We located his Hurst ratchet-style floor shifter in the middle. A pair of stainless steel cup holders provides a safe spot for cold beverages. We wrapped the console in the same leather as the rest of the interior for a completely integrated look.
We upgraded the front and rear speakers in the car. In the front, we used a set of kick panels with cloth-covered grilles. The rear speakers are covered with a similar grille to keep everything concealed.
The client was impressed with how we designed the system to integrate with the theme of the interior.
